Barney Frank

Confession time: some people want to meet famous movie stars or musicians. I could care less. But today I had the privilege of speaking with Barney Frank. As a Congressman for over thirty years, he was one of the heroes of the Democratic Party and the despair of conservative Republicans. As an advocate for LGBT equality and racial justice, women's rights and access to emergency health care, financial reform, and as a passionate champion of true American values, Frank represented the best of what we can hope to find in elected officials. He was instrumental in passing health care insurance and in the election (and re-election) of Barack Obama. Fearless in confronting GOP lies, and for exposing Tea Party neo-cons for their shameless Bible-thumping hypocrisy, Frank is a hero in my book.... and it was a privilege to speak with him and to know that it won't be the only occasion.
